Community Horse Sanctuary started in 2015 when we began transforming Ashfault Farm, our small race horse breeding operation, into a facility for taking in horses who need a comfortable, healthy home to live out their lives.

There is a strong need for such an option.  In some cases, circumstances change and owners can no longer provide good care for their horses.  In others, a horse is injured or unfit for work and would otherwise need to be euthanized or sent to Canada or Mexico for slaughter.  Our goal is to work with our community to provide healthy pasture homes for these horses to live out their lives.  We provide supplemental feed, veterinary and farrier care and the neighbors provide safe pasture.
