Statisticians Nab Top Honors

American Statistical Association honors two ½ñÈÕ³Ô¹Ï math seniors for theses on networks and bicycle routes.

Two ½ñÈÕ³Ô¹Ï math majors have won top prizes in a prestigious national competition sponsored by the American Statistical Association for their senior theses.

Nick Solomon ’17 won the top honor in the applied research category in 2017 for his thesis, titled ".” His adviser was Prof. .

Will Jones ’16 also won first place in the applied research category in 2016 for his thesis, titled  "" his adviser was Prof. .

The competition’s full title is the Undergraduate Statistics Project Competition (known as USPROC) and is sponsored by the American Statistical Association and the Consortium for Advancement of Undergraduate Statistics Education.
