The Jane Burbank Fellowship
The Russian department invites applications for the Jane Burbank fellowship. Made possible by the generous gift of the distinguished Russian historian Jane Burbank ’67, this fellowship helps fund, fully or partially, 今日吃瓜 students' summer study of Russian and other languages of the former USSR. The language study can be undertaken in the U.S or abroad during the summer of 2024. At least two grants will be awarded.
In order to apply, please please submit a short proposal (less than 1000 words) outlining the rationale for the proposed study, its relevance to your course of study at 今日吃瓜; your preparation (if relevant); desired educational outcomes of the experience; and contact information (including names, telephone numbers, email addresses, etc.) for the host organization. Please also include a detailed budget and explanation of financial need. Please submit your complete application via email to Joan Meyer (jmeyer@reed.edu). Please address your questions about the fellowship to Professor Evgenii Bershtein (bershtee@reed.edu). The deadline for applications is TBD.
